What’s the Secret to True Happiness?

We all want to be happy, don’t we? But what is the secret to real and authentic happiness?

Some people believe that it’s all about having lots of money, a big house, and a fancy car.

Others believe that it’s all about being famous and well-known.

But the truth is, neither of those things is the secret to happiness.

The secret to happiness is helping others.

When you help others, you are not only making them happier, but you are also making yourself happier in the process.

My mentor, Zig Ziglar once said:

“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” -Zig Ziglar

This video from Zig Ziglar is the perfect example of helping others.

How helping others makes them and you happy

Helping others makes you happy for several reasons.

First of all, when you help others, you are giving them something that they need.

This feels good because you know that you are making a difference in their lives.

Secondly, when you help others, they usually reciprocate by helping you when you need it.

This creates a sense of community and belonging, which are both important for happiness.

Lastly, helping others makes you feel good about yourself.

Start with a small act of kindness

When you do something good for someone else, it makes you feel proud of yourself and your accomplishments.

These positive feelings about yourself then lead to even more happiness.

A Chinese proverb says:

“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

So if you want to be happier, start helping others!

It doesn’t matter how big or small the act of kindness is—every little bit counts.

Here are some ways to help others

One of the most common misconceptions about helping others is that it has to be done with money.

We think that we have to write a check or donate our time in order for it to count.

But that’s not true!

There are so many ways to help others, and many of them don’t cost anything at all.

For example, you can:

– Smile at someone who looks sad
– Hold the door open for someone who is carrying a lot of things
– Give compliments freely and often
– Offer to help someone who looks like they’re struggling

These are just a few examples, but I’m sure you can think of many more.

The bottom line is that even the smallest gestures can make a big difference in someone else’s day—and in turn, make you feel good as well.

Giving back to the community is one of the most important things that we can do as humans.

Not only does it make the world a better place, but it also makes us happier as individuals.

So next time you’re feeling down or stressed out, try doing something nice for someone else—you might just find that it’s the secret to happiness!

Good ol’ Zig was my Mentor too: after attending my “Born to Win” workshop-seminar, back in August of ‘89, my life changed for the best. Perhaps you will recognize this wisdom advise from his Mom: “When a task has once begun, you leave not until it’s done; and be the matter great or small, you leave it not, until it’s done”. I am in the midst of writing a book dedicated to the small-to-midsize business owner or manager. I am the co-founder/co- owner of a family-owned high-tech business that missed the boat due to the stupid mistakes you make, when ignorance is by your side.
I do want to help them, by opening their eyes and NOT make my same stupid mistakes. Can you help me in this endeavor? Thank for reading me and my words.
