Negative thinking can easily become a habit, but it’s important to remember that our thoughts influence our emotions and actions.
Staying positive isn’t always easy, but it’s worth the effort.
After all, a positive attitude can lead to improved work performance, better decision-making, and even better physical health.
But despite knowing all this, it’s not always easy to keep your spirits up day after day.
Mindset: What does it really mean?
There’s no doubt you hear a lot of talk about mindset.
People often talk about mindset on social media.
What do they really mean by mindset?
How do they define a positive mindset?
Let me refer you to my absolute best mentor and the very first mentor in my life: Zig Ziglar.
Zig had a quote that I remember to this day, and that I live by:
Before you change your thinking, you have to change what goes into your mind. You are what you are and where you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are and where you are by changing what goes into your mind. —Zig Ziglar
The mind is the part between the ears, and it is the great equalizer. Everyone is born with one.
No matter how much money your parents made, what color your skin is, where you were born, or where you live, it doesn’t matter.
In truth, what counts is what is in your mind.
Mindset: Why does your mind matter over everything else?
What you put into your mind is what matters.
Zig Ziglar also used to say something like “garbage in, garbage out”.
If you put good things in, good things come out.
The expression basically means that great things will emerge from great things.
We can change everything about ourselves if we simply change our mindset.
You were born with a beautiful mind, so if you switch your mindset to positive thinking, then positive things will come out.
The question is, what are you feeding that mind?
Are you putting positive things in that mind? And is that mind giving you positive things back?
Ultimately, that’s how it all works: it’s the power of a positive mindset!
Well said Mark. And the younger you learn this the better life you will have. Mom and Dad what are you feeding those tender minds around you? Teenager what choices are you making to to have a healthy mind and a better life full of good choices. Feed your mind wholesome food. Blessings!
