How to Develop Successful People (and Employees)

Learn from my mentor, Zig Ziglar, how to truly develop successful people and employees.

In fact, Zig Ziglar, explains how to truly see the potential in all people.

He uses the example from the legendary, Andrew Carnegie when he once said……

“You develop millionaires the way you mine gold. You expect to move tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don’t go into the mine looking for the dirt-you go in looking for the gold.” —Andrew Carnegie

How to Find True Talent in Others

There’s a story about Andrew Carnegie, a first-grade industrious guy our society produced, who had 43 millionaires working for him.

Back then, a millionaire was a big deal (and still is).

A reporter asked him, “Mr. Carnegie, how on earth did you hire 43 millionaires?

A little smile came over his face. He said, “Well, none of them were millionaires when I hired them.“.

The reporter then asked, “Well, what did you do to develop them to the point where you could pay them enough money that they became millionaires?“.

Carnegie taught us a big lesson with his answer.

He said, “You develop people exactly like you’d mine gold.“.

Learn Why Gold Mining is Important to Finding Success in Others

Carnegie then said, “When you go to goldmine, you expect to move tons and tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don’t go in there looking for the dirt you go in there looking for the gold.”.

That’s an interesting statement because you really do find what you’re looking for and that is a person’s authentic talent for success.
